   I was born in 1949 in Hull, Yorkshire. After a Foundation Course at Tameside College, Ashton- under- Lyne, Lancashire, I completed a B.A. Honours in Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University followed later by an M.A. in Art and Design at Sheffield Hallam University. I worked as a lecturer in Fine Art at Tameside College from 1985 to 2003.

   I began as a figurative painter but now produce abstract work as well as still life painting.

​

   Since coming to Cornwall in 2003 I have also been practising ceramics.
